Importing images, videos and live screen capture from iOS devices

Importing your designs into is as easy as drag and drop. Let’s take a look!

Importing images

Rotato works with any jpg or png image, saved by Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Principle, InVision, Adobe XD, or any app you may use to make your designs.

Importing videos

Importing videos is very similar to importing images. Rotato works with almost any video file, including

  • Videos made with the iOS screen recording feature. Here’s how to add it to your Control Center: Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls > Add Screen Recording

  • Videos made with Principle, InVision Studio, Adobe XD, After Effects, or other favorite video creation apps you may have

Importing directly from Sketch

There are three ways to import your flat image from Sketch into Rotato.

  1. Drag the exported version directly from Sketch into Rotato (see video below)

  2. Use the Rotato plugin. Plugins > Rotato > Send to Rotato or press cmd + option + r

  3. You can also play with the experimental plug-in that lets you explode your Sketch artboard in 3D space

Mirroring your iPhone screen to Rotato

This is really fun.

  1. Plug in your iPhone to your computer’s USB port and wait a few seconds

  2. The Connect button in the Rotato toolbar now becomes active. Click it!
