Scrolling an image on the mockup display

If you're showcasing a website, you can show more than what's above the fold

This tutorial has been updated the to latest design of Rotato

When you drag in an image that is longer than the mockup's display, Rotato will give you an option to scroll that image. Here's how

  1. Drag, paste or select an image that is long.
  2. Open the Devices area in the sidebar
  3. Use the Screen Scroll slider to adjust the scroll position

Animate the scroll position

If you're exporting a video, you can make it look like someone is scrolling through the screen contents.

  1. Follow the steps above to add your screen contents
  2. If you don't have an animation on the timeline, add one now
  3. Place the playhead above the first keyframe of the animation
  4. Adjust the scroll position to the position you want the animation to start from
  5. Place the playhead above the last keyframe of the animation
  6. Adjust the scroll position to the position you want the animation to end at

How to get a long image

If you're designing in Figma or another screen design tool, you may already have a long image, and you can just export the entire frame or artboard.

If you're making an image of a web page, there are a few tools that allow either stitching or scrolling capture. One of them is Cleanshot's scrolling capture, which we recommend.

Height limit

Due to the nature of how your Mac works deep inside, a scrolling image can not be taller than 16,000 pixels on most modern Macs.
